Often, we don’t realise how easy it is to be environmentally-friendly. But thankfully, it is becoming easier in NSW. With the recent trend of sustainable coffee cups, and plastic bags becoming less-popular, we are on a way to a more environmentally-sustainable state.
City of Sydney offers an ‘E-waste drop-off day’ every quarter, where you can bring old electronics including televisions, computers, phones, and more, to be recycled! Around 95% of raw materials recovered are broken down into commodities and then circulated back into new products for use (City of Sydney 2018).To make this easier, you don’t even have to get out of the car! All you need to do is bring your electronics and you will make a difference - City of Sydney will do the rest.
Did you know that Australians generate more than 140,000 tonnes of electronic waste each year and most of it ends up in landfill? (City of Sydney 2018). Join the movement and contribute to the E-waste drop-off day! This is just one way that you can play your part in becoming a more environmentally-sustainable state.
