In 2016, five whale corpses washed up on London shores and two were spray painted by activists to highlight the agency we all have but do nothing to use for good. Source.

What a shame there is such a connotation on the word activist.

While some disapproved the spray painting of a dead whale as they said it was disrespectful, others applauded it. Although we're sure those who called the spray painting distasteful, unnecessary and disrespectful are not angels either. Out of the 3 million tonnes of plastic Australian creates annually, only 9% of this is recycled. That's 130,000 tonnes of plastic that end up in the ocean each year. And only 3% of plastic bags which are properly disposed of. Source.

Perhaps this is what we need: a wake-up call disguised as a controversy.

We can understand this may not be the best way to reach as many people as possible on a positive note, that's why we encourage you to use music to get through to those who do not believe in Climate Change or regularly use and throw away single use plastic.
